(Pitching Day) Co-Create for Impact: Join Our Co-Creation Challenge- Final Pitching now!

We are calling for applications to the Co-Creation Challenge: Final Pitching! If you have an innovative idea that you co-create with a like-minded partner, we encourage you to sign up for the event, which you will have the opportunity to pitch your idea to funders/foundation members!

Cross-sector collaboration and co-creation are key to the success of social innovation. We have launched the Co-Creation Challenge which aims to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge among organizations, social entrepreneurs, and various sectors, nurturing social entrepreneurs to generate new ideas and implement innovative projects to address local social issues and bring positive impact to society. 

Therefore, for the upcoming pitching event, we will focus on the theme “Co-Creation” and we will select around 5-8 projects which aligns with the below, to participate in the final pitching on 21/25 March pm (exact day TBD). Please note that this event is a  competition with pitching opportunities, no funding commitment promised. 1 winning team, among the 5-8 selected pitching teams with be awarded with HKD 10,000 as prize money.

Who can join the Challenge?

  • At least one team member should represent an organization receiving or previously receiving funds from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (E.g. The HSBC Hong Kong Community Partnership Programme, Link Together Initiatives, SIE Fund via Impact Incubator only)
  • Formed a team collaborating/co-creating with at least one other organization/company/social entrepreneur

What kind of projects are you looking for?

  • Focus on creating a positive impact on underprivileged and marginalized groups in Hong Kong.
  • Recommended project duration: 1-2 years.
  • Recommended project budget: HK$1,000,000 or above.

What are the selection criteria?

  • Good understanding of social need and a clear theory of change.
  • Innovativeness of the proposed solution.
  • Co-creation between stakeholders.
  • Clear implementation plan and defined project outputs.
  • Consideration of sustainability in terms of impact and financial aspects.

Guidelines on submitting a concept note:

  • Clearly outline the problem statement, proposed solution, expected outcomes, and implementation plan
  • Either Chinese or English
  • Please submit in PPT format
  • Suggest to keep the slides within 20 pages

How many teams will be presenting at the final pitching?

  • 5-8 teams will be presenting

If I am shortlisted, what do I need to do for the final pitching?

  • HKCSS Impact Incubator team will meet up with you for a quick briefing and rehearsal in March
  • You will have around 10 minutes to present followed by the Q&A session by the judging panel

Who will be the judging panel?

  • Funders, foundation members etc. More detailed panelist name will be shared with you sooner to the event.

What can I get from this Challenge?

  • 1 winning team will get HKD10,000 as prize money
  • Networking opportunities with the funders and foundation members on new project idea
  • Social media exposure from HKCSS

Please submit your concept note on or before 23:59, 21 February 2024 (Wednesday). Successful registrants will receive a confirmation email on or before 26 February 2024.

Please note that the primary focus of our challenge is 'Co-creation.' Therefore, it is essential that you connect with at least one organization/company/social entrepreneur to form a team and participate in the challenge while your partner can be someone from external parties (not necessarily our grantees/ incubatees).
