Social Innovation on Women Employment

Some social enterprises aim at helping women to find jobs, so they pay efforts on promoting women empowerment. We have invited Ms. Mary Cheung, the founder of GoGENIE, to introduce how to help the women on designing an outstanding resume; and Ms. Yip, the founder of Festyle, to explain how to enhance value of women in society from making ready-to-cook cuisine packages.

Invitation to Future Camp@ 2017– Adjustment to New Public Housing Estates: threats and opportunitie

While moving into public housing estates could deserve a huge celebration for some, the process is not problem-free. Adjusting to a totally new environment, plus the complication associated with schooling, childcare, work and social life could post certain threats to families.

 

Our Council is organizing a Future Camp@ 2017 titled Adjustment to New Public Rental Housing: Threats and Opportunities on September 16, 2017. And beforehand, a total of 4 Pre-camp Outreaches would be organized from September 6 to 13. The Future Camp is a new way to promote social innovation through a congregation of "future engineers" who come with a diverse wealth of insights, knowledge and skills. During the Camp, the "future engineers" will brainstorm ideas and develop concrete solutions so as to help tackle the adjustment problems in relation to New Public Housing Estates in Hong Kong. Peer-to-peer learning – Social Impact Assessment advanced session

Peer-to-peer learning – Visit to 3D Printing One Gallery

Recent years, various industries have increasingly adopting 3D printing technology to streamline production and create additional values on products and services. The rapid and low cost prototyping enable new possibilities in the notion of social innovation. Impact Incubator, the one-stop support platform of social innovation and entrepreneurship is going to organize a visit to 3D Printing One set up and operated by Hong Kong Productivity Council, a gallery which showcases a wide range of application across sectors, followed by a peer-to-peer learning session, a group of sector practitioners and experienced 3D printing Consultant are going to exchange ideas and experiences on technology applications. Social Enterprise Seminar – Community Economy Series – Exploring Social Needs and Major Factors of

Shared kitchen is part of the community economy that brings social and business impacts by sharing of idle but equipped commercial kitchens and food ingredients in the community. The feasibility and potential impacts of operating a shared kitchen is discussed enthusiastically in recent years.  A few operating pilot schemes in the community are also witnessed. Discussion on mobile phone consumption patterns and exchange of goods culture

With the popularity of mobile phone, electronic payment usage becomes more and more mature, peronsal as well as group consumption patterns thus changed. Innovation of Food Safety and Nutrition Management

In Hong Kong, about one third of social enterprises engaged in food catering and manufacturing. With the higher demand and expecatinos on food safety and nutrition management, HKCSS-SEBC and Hong Kong Food Start-up Community will jointly organize a thematic workshop, invite food industry expert and university lectureres to share information on food safety and nutrition management of product innovation and industry development issues. Let SEs and social entrepreneurs understand how to apply the knowdedge of food safety and nutrition management in product development, quality control as well as sales and marketing levels. Likewise Forum, A peer-to-peer learning Platform

Invitation to "SE Seminar Series" - How Social Enterprise can Maximize the Power of Direct Marketing

The Hong Kong Council of Social Service and Hong Kong Post are co-organizing a Social Enterprise Seminar, inviting senior representatives from direct marketing sector to examine and share the latest direct marketing knowledge with the social enterprise sector. In this era of e-communication, integrated marketing communications of both physical mail and digital means are believed the most effective approach for promotion.

In this workshop, our speakers will share tips of direct marketing and case studies on leveraging one of the direct mail services, Hongkong Post Circular Service, in recruiting new customers. You can learn some proven practices on how to optimize the communication mix with both physical and digital channels, such as direct mailing and eDM, to achieve better results.

We will also introduce a one-stop online DIY platform for you to handle complex tasks of creating and sending physical or digital communications. 「港未來·實驗營」Future Camp 2015

With an aim to promote social innovation, after exploring on allocation of food resources last year,  Future Camp 2015 will be held in July 2015 by HKCSS - HSBC Social Enterprise Business Center. This programme is organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, sponsored by Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund. The theme is “mapping community assets·connecting people, space, talent”. People from business, social welfare and professional services sectors as well as community markets and the civil society are invited to jointly initiate discussions based on specific social issues and generate innovative ideas in order to facilitate cooperation. Legal Seminar Series Major new changes under the Companies Ordinance

According to survey findings, most of the social enterprises in Hong Kong are established in the form of companies limited by guarantee or limited by shares. The seminar will give participants a briefing on the major changes introduced into the New Companies Ordinance (Cap.622 of the Laws of Hong Kong) compared to the previous one (Cap.32 of the Laws of Hong Kong), such as the new Model Articles and the fair dealing by directors, as well as the implications of such changes to social enterprises in Hong Kong. The seminar will also discuss the major differences of the Articles of Association between the above two types of companies.
